My name is Jeanien Marx. The counselling that I do is based on Biblical principles.
I taught for many years and became interested in and studied functional and play therapy. Further study resulted in first a Master’s degree, where I researched the effects of trauma caused as a result of death, divorce of parents, violence and abuse and developed practical guideline for counselling, and then a Doctorate in Pastoral counselling.
I dedicate myself to working with both children and adults of all age groups and backgrounds. My aim is to facilitate and guide each person towards greater wholeness and confidence within themselves. That in turn leads to greater emotional fulfilment in play, work, love and life in general.
Pastoral Counsellors are professionals who help individuals deal with mental health and wellbeing problems. Some forms of pastoral counselling are short-term and problem-focused, whereas others address long-standing conflicts that require extended support.
Studies have shown that online therapy is just as effective as face-to-face-therapy. There are no waiting rooms and no need to travel to an office or asking for time off from work. It can be done at any time and saves money and time.
